If you’re in the pet industry it’s important that you keep up to date with the latest trends, products and services. And Trade Shows or Expos are one of the best ways to do that. If you want to stay ahead of the competition then visiting a trade show should be high on your to do list.
Not only do you get to see what’s going on in the market now, there are seminars from industry experts you can attend and of course it’s an opportunity to network with others in the pet business – and get ideas for your business.
Our friend, Amy Miller told us how she started her new blog – pethairhq.com – after attending a pet expo.
“Last year I went to the Global Pet Expo with a friend, who owns a pet grooming business. I figured it might be fun. I could not believe the size of the event. It was huge! It made me realize just how big the pet industry was and how much demand there must be for the products and services.
I got the idea for Pet Hair HQ from talking to someone while I was waiting in line for coffee. She had 4 dogs and 3 cats and a parrot – now that is an animal lover! She was telling me how she spends all her time cleaning up after them and googling for advice for better ways to clean pet hair and how to prevent shedding. She told me how much she’d love it if there was a single place she could get the advice she needs about cleaning up after animals.
I’d been in the vacuum cleaner business before I started a family and am a bit of a clean freak – my other half claims I have OCD. I decided to combine my love of animals and my obsession with cleaning. So, I start a blog all about how to manage pet hair.
It’s early days yet but we’re growing strongly and I think with spring just around the corner – a notoriously bad time for animals shedding their hair – we’re likely to see a major increase in visitors to the site in the next couple of months”
We’ve heard quite a few stories like Amy’s. People visiting pet expos often get inspired to start a whole new business or maybe just take their business in a new direction. So, why not get yourself down to a trade expo in 2018 and see where it leads you!
